Welcome Back - Has It Really Been This Long?

Hello, I've been off the radar a bit recently, feeling a bit low about myself and my self confidence has not been the greatest.

Christmas with Juno was great, she loved opening all her presents and i think more liked her wrapping paper too. Me and J spent time with his family and I got my very own sewing machine.

Since Christmas I've been really trying my hardest in being a good mum, girlfriend and figuring out what I want and if it's worth it to keep this blog up.

Lack of confidence in what I write about is one problem, inspiration is another. Although I enjoy reading about all of you guys and what you get up to, I felt as though my life is a bit dull in comparison.

BUT I AM ABOUT TO CHANGE!

I am going to start from now on with a new positive attitude and outlook on life. This is what I'm going to try

  1. Wake up every day with a smile
  2. Don't think I can't be bothered - It helps no one and causes a lot of hassle
  3. Do at least one thing a week that will be just me time
  4. Smile
  5. Talk to you guys more - I'm sorry if I havn't got in touch
  6. Make some exciting new friends

I hope this post hasn't bored you to tears but everyone needs a rant and a good vent now and then. I just hope you guys are still with me and can help me through.

This week has been..........

Well this week has been a roller-coaster ride I can tell you. Looking at houses and finding the perfect one only to be told it has been taken away and they have found someone else.

I started at a new job Friday, it's nothing permanent at the moment but it gets me out and about, Juno free. It's a lovely cafĂ© in town and everyone there is so warm and welcoming. If you are in Burnham pop in and say hello.

Mr White's tank has had a makeover and now looks sparkly and clean. He looks so happy.

So, I've been thinking that seeing as though there is about 9 weeks until Christmas, I need to start making some resolutions and must do's for Autumn/ Winter.

These include -

  • At least 80% of Christmas is to be home-made - As we don't have a lot of pennies at the mo, also I think it's more personal to receive a gift that someone has taken the time and effort to make.

  • To get my first tattoo - I was thinking either something like this on my leg as I love Studio Ghibli  and this was the first film I saw of their's. Also I have a thing with black cats, it will represent Kiri and Stewie, my two old cats that I have been brought up with.

  • Broaden my horizons - I've been just in a circle of watching Breaking bad, CBeebies and crap T.V so I think it's time to get back into some other T.V, Film and documentaries that I have a massive list of to watch.

  • Finally, try and get a presentable and decent looking blog that I'm proud of. Eg - Title, Background, Buttons Etc.

And most of all try and be smiley and happy. I'm on anti- depressants at the moment as I have been feeling down and lost. I'm working through it and even though mine is a mild form of depression (unrelated to having Juno they think), I'm finding it helpful and re-assuring to read and find other bloggers who are going through this sometimes dark and terrible time. (Sorry I sounded a bit like Dumbledore then)

Just another thing, Juno wants to say a quick hello to everyone out there.

Hi Guys!

Tuesday Thoughts

Today my thought's and wishes are with the family and of course Malala, the 14 year old Pakistani girl who was shot on her way home from school by the Taliban for speaking out about education for women.

This act is horrific and to think she was only saying what she believes in makes it worse. Thankfully (and hopefully) she is in the safe hands of the staff of Birmingham hospital, getting the treatment and support she needs.

So what's next? As a new mother this makes me wonder when is the world going to be safe?

When Juno is Malala's age, can she go out on her own and be safe? Can she be herself with her own opinions and beliefs?

I hope that the people who did this get their fair punishment.

Of course I hope that Malala makes a full recovery too.

Meet our new addition to the family - Walter White

About 3 weeks ago, I popped into my local pet shop to help Dani pick up her hamster for Eliya. I glanced across the counter and fell in love with a bearded dragon. He was the last one left and the lady in the shop told me he may not be for sale as one of the other dragon's had bitten his tail.

I immediately told the woman that if he comes available i will have him, and yesterday J brought him home.

We decided on Heisenberg for his name after Breaking Bad, but i call him Walter for short. We have also got quite a few crickets now as pets too.

There hasn't been much happening at the moment, I'm just trying to sort out finding a new house that we feel happy about as the neighbors downstairs are making impossible for us to be like that. I'm also making plans for the future either around Christmas or the New Year which will be exciting and also have a few ideas for future posts if I can pull them off.

Even though I haven't posted in a while, I'm still out there getting ideas and hoping my concentration levels come back for me to get more involved.

But enough about me, how's life treating you?

Any exciting news?

Speak soon.

Foodie Pen Pals - August 2012

When I was looking through a few new blogs (mainly to find some inspiration to make something) I came across this really cool Idea - Foodie Pen Pals. Started by Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean, It has now been brought over to England and Europe by Carol Anne at This is Rock salt

The idea is simple, you are paired with two different people, one who you send a parcel of goodies to and then another who you receive a parcel from.

It's a great way to meet new people and fellow bloggers. You start by emailing your FPP to see what they like and don't like etc. I had the lovely Isobel over at The Higley Kitchen. (you can see what she thought of my parcel here)

You then get an email from someone else (in my case I had Lisa from The Best Mummy I Can Be) I think I was pretty easy, I like most things and especially like baking. So I was so happy when I got lots of cake decorating goodies.

Lovely goodieness!

Lisa went with a British theme and I couldn't be more happier. The mature Cheddar and spring onion bites were delicious too.

I had Eliya-Mai for a few hours yesterday so as she was here when my parcel arrived, I thought it was only right we make cakes and decorate them.

Yummy cakes!

Think Eliya loved them too!
I can't wait for next month and If you are in Europe and England click here for more info.

I'm off to our town's Folkfest today so will speak soon.

My Tatty Devine Necklace

Yesterday I had a knock on the door  to find the postman bringing me this

A few weeks ago I entered a competition on Facebook to win a Tatty Devine necklace and I won!
If you haven't heard of Tatty Devine, you are missing out. They specialize in handmade perspex jewellery, but also create items out of wood, leather, veneer and enamel.

I would suggest checking them out if you are after an piece of jewellery that is different than you find on the high street.

Here is my Juno Necklace that I won. I chose Juno's name as I have a necklace that means something than just having my name.

I will post a picture of what it looks like on a bit later.
Have found Tatty Devine? What jewellery do you go for?
